Ghana: MoCD launches Cyber Security Authority

The Ghanain Minister of Communications and Digitalisation ('MoCD'), Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, MP, launched, on 1 October 2021, the Cyber Security Authority ('CSA'). In particular, the CSA is an agency under the MoCD which transitioned from the National Cyber Security Centre following the passage of the Cybersecurity Act 2020 (Act 1038). As such, the CSA has been established to regulate cybersecurity activities, protect critical information infrastructure, provide for the development of the Computer Emergency Response Team ('CERT'), promote public awareness and education on cybersecurity matters, and provide for related matters in Ghana.
