Georgia: Bill for Consumer Privacy Act passed by Senate

On February 27, 2024, Senate Bill 473 to enact the Georgia Consumer Privacy Protection Act was read for the third time and was passed with amendments by the Senate Science and Technology Committee. The bill, if enacted, will provide rights to data subjects and obligations on data controllers as it relates to personal information processing. Additionally, if enacted, the bill as passed in the Senate will become effective on July 1, 2026.
