Florida: Bill on technology transparency passes Commerce Committee

House Bill 1547 for An act relating to technology transparency was passed, on 24 April 2023, by the Commerce Committee and has now been added to the House of Representatives calendar for second reading. In particular, the bill outlines controller obligations for the collection of consumer data, including specific requirements for the collection of consumer personal data without authorisation, as well as requiring controllers that collect personal information to implement reasonable security procedures and practices to protect such information.
