Florida: Bill creating Digital Bill of Rights sent to Governor

On June 5, 2023, Senate Bill 262 creating the Florida Digital Bill of Rights was sent to the Governor of Florida for signature. In particular, the bill outlines controller obligations for the collection of consumer data, including specific requirements for the collection of consumer personal data without authorization, as well as the requirement for controllers that collect personal information to implement reasonable security procedures and practices to protect such information.
