Europe: Albanian IDP announces cooperation agreement with Maltese IDPC

The Albanian Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner ('IDP') announced, on 14 September 2022, that it had signed a cooperation agreement with the Maltese Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner ('IDPC'). In particular, the IDP explained that the purpose of the cooperation agreement is to deepen knowledge and experience in personal data protection. In addition, the cooperation agreement aims to:

  • expand cooperation in terms of cross-border flows of personal data between Albania and Malta;
  • enhance exchange of information and best practices; and
  • set out a basis for the planning of joint activities to increase privacy awareness.
