EU: Commission plans public consultation on SCCs under GDPR

In September 2024, the European Commission announced that it plans to request public feedback on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the fourth quarter of 2024. These SCCs address the specific scenario where the data importer (controller or processor) is located in a third country but is directly subject to the GDPR and will complement the existing SCCs, which can be used for data transfers to third-country importers that are not subject to the GDPR.

You can track the status of the public consultation here.
