Dominica: Government announces review of FATCA bill

The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica announced, on 19 September 2018, that it is reviewing a bill for the Foreign Account Tax Compliance (United States of America) Act, 2018 ('FATCA') ('the Bill'), to improve international tax compliance and implement the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act 2010. In particular, the Bill, if enacted, would require covered financial institutions to appoint a reporting officer, maintain arrangements for the identification of reportable accounts, and retain records on the same.
