California: District Court of Appeal agrees to review ruling to limit CPPA's enforcement capabilities

The California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) published on LinkedIn, on September 18, 2023, a statement from the CPPA's Executive Director, Ashkan Soltani, concerning the District Court of Appeal's decision in the case CPPA v CalChamber. In particular, Soltani stated that "We are encouraged the District Court of Appeal has prioritized Californians' privacy rights and taken up our request to review the trial court's decision which limits a portion of CPPA's enforcement abilities. We look forward to the Court of Appeal's final ruling and, in the meantime, will continue steadfast enforcement of the significant portions of [the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA)] that the trial court recognized are currently in effect."
