California: Bill relating to in-vehicle cameras passes both houses

On September 18, 2023, the California State Assembly concurred with the amendments introduced by the California State Senate to Senate Bill 296 on in-vehicle cameras, which was thereafter enrolled and presented to the Governor. In particular, the bill would require drivers to be notified when images are gathered by in-vehicle cameras and would prohibit their sale to third parties or for advertising purposes.

You can read the press release here and the bill here.
