Brazil: Senate sets deadline for receiving suggestions on new AI regulatory framework
The Senate announced, on 4 April 2022, that suggestions from experts and other sectors of society related to the new regulatory framework on artificial intelligence ('AI') can be submitted until 13 May 2022, following the creation of a Commission of Jurists for this AI framework. Furthermore, the Senate highlighted that discussions on the AI framework would include topics such as concepts related to AI, understanding and classification of AI, impacts of AI, rights and duties, accountability, governance, and inspections.
Additionally, the Senate noted that suggestions as part of this consultation should be sent to [email protected] by email or sent directly to the Federal Senate Protocol.

Senate extends deadline for receiving regulatory experts' input on AI Framework
The Senate announced, on 11 May 2022, that the deadline for suggestions from experts and other sectors related to the new regulatory framework on AI has been extended to 10 June 2022.
