Brazil: ANPD publishes list of investigations, including into Tik Tok and WhatsApp
The Brazilian data protection authority (ANPD) published, on May 31, 2023, a list of the organizations and institutions that are under investigation in regard to compliance with the General Personal Data Protection Law (LGPD). The ANPD highlighted that it is currently investigating 16 organizations and institutions, which include Bytedance Brasil Tecnologia Ltda. (TikTok) with regard to its processing of children's and adolescents' personal data, as well as WhatsApp LLC regarding the sharing of data with Meta companies (Facebook).
