Brazil: ANPD announces public hearing on inspection rules

The Brazilian data protection authority ('ANPD') announced, on 25 June 2021, that it will hold, on 8 July 2021, a public hearing on its inspection rules, where it aims to discuss the normative proposal that would establish the ANPD's inspection mechanism. Furthermore, the public consultation will be open to comments and suggestions regarding the standard proposed by the ANPD to establish the inspection mechanisms that it intends to adopt, with provisions for monitoring, guidance, prevention, and sanctioning.

Parties interested in participating in the public hearing must pre-register by 6 July 2021, using the form available here. The public hearing will be broadcast through ANPD's YouTube channel here and registration is not required for those who just wish to watch.

ANPD postpones public hearing on inspection rules

The ANPD announced, on 8 July 2021, that it had postponed the date of its public hearing on its inspection rules. In particular, the public hearing is now set to be held on 15 and 16 July 2021.
