Baden-Württemberg: LfDI Baden-Württemberg issues guidance on compliant integration of videos into websites

The Baden-Württemberg data protection authority ('LfDI Baden-Württemberg') issued, on 7 November 2022, guidance for associations, companies, and public bodies on how to integrate videos onto their websites in compliance with data protection regulations. In particular, the LfDI Baden-Württemberg stated that personal data is shared when content from commercial video platforms is directly integrated into these websites.

More specifically, the guidance gives an overview on uploading and embedding internal or external videos, and emphasises the importance of complying with the requirements under the Federal Act on the Regulation of Data Protection and Privacy in Telecommunications and Telemedia of 23 June 2021 ('TTDSG').

You can read the press release here and the guidance here, both only available in German.
