Argentina: AAIP launches registry for foreign data controllers

The Argentinian data protection authority ('AAIP') announced, on 29 November 2022, that a web form has been set up for the registration of data controllers who do not reside in Argentina. In particular, the AAIP noted that it had established the web form for the registration of individuals or legal entities that process personal data of Argentinian data subjects, but are not established in the territory, pursuant to the Personal Data Protection Act, Act No. 25.326 of 2000. Moreover, the AAIP highlighted that the registry enables Argentinian data subjects to exercise their data subject rights before the foreign data controllers.
