Virginia: Bill for the protection of minors' health care records signed by the Governor

The Virginia Governor signed, on 11 April 2022, House Bill ('HB') 916 to amend the Virginia Code with respect to health care providers, and health care records of minors available via secure websites. In particular, HB 916 provides that any hospital and health care provider that makes patient medical records available through a secure website must make all medical records of a minor patient available to their parents through the aforementioned secure website, unless the hospital or health care provider can make such medical records available in a manner that prevents the disclosure of information.
