USA: ACUS releases report on AI in federal agencies

The Administrative Conference of the United States ('ACUS') released, on 18 February 2020, jointly with the Stanford Law School and the New York University School of Law, a report on Government by Algorithm: Artificial Intelligence in Federal Administrative Agencies ('the Report'). In particular, the Report examines, among other things, the growing role that machine learning and other artificial intelligence ('AI') technologies are playing in federal agency adjudication, enforcement, and other regulatory activities, and maps current uses of AI technologies in federal agencies, addressing challenges in assuring accountability, transparency, and non-discrimination.
