Ukraine: Cabinet approves technical regulations for cryptographic information security

The State Communications Service ('DSSZZI') announced, on 23 October 2020, that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine had approved a resolution on a technical regulation for cryptographic protection of information. In particular, the DSSZZI highlighted that the regulation sets requirements for each stage of the controlled cryptographic items' lifecycle, which is designed to protect open and/or confidential information in accordance with international standards. In addition, the DSSZZI noted that the adoption of this resolution is an important part of implementing the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and harmonises national legislation with international and European regulations, in particular the implementation of Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of 23 July 2014 on Electronic Identification and Trust Services for Electronic Transactions in the Internal Market and Repealing Directive 1999/93/EC ('the eIDAS Regulation').
