UK: NCSC launches home and remote working exercise for small businesses to test cyber resilience
The National Cyber Security Centre ('NCSC') launched, on 13 July 2020, the home and remote working exercise ('the Exercise') to help small businesses test their cyber resilience while staff work remotely due to the COVID-19 ('Coronavirus') pandemic. In particular, the NCSC highlighted that the Exercise is the latest addition to the NCSC's 'Exercise in a Box' toolkit, which helps small and medium-sized businesses carry out drills in preparation for potential cyberattacks and that the Exercise is focused on home and remote working, reflecting the fact that for many organisations this remains a hugely important part of their business. Furthermore, the Exercise focuses on how staff members can safely access networks, what services might be needed for secure employee collaboration, and what processes are in place to manage a cyber incident remotely.
