Turkey: Presidency Digital Transformation Office publishes updated national AI strategy 2024-2025 action plan
On July 24, 2024, Turkey's Presidency Digital Transformation Office issued the national artificial intelligence (AI) strategy 2024-2025 action plan. The action plan was updated in alignment with the 12th Development Plan to address recent developments in AI and the country's needs, ensuring Turkey takes faster and more decisive steps in this field. The updated action plan was finalized with input from the public, private sector, and non-governmental organizations to strengthen Turkey's global position in AI.
Key focus areas of the action plan include:
- developing productive AI technologies to utilize resources more effectively;
- creating major Turkish language models and value-added products and services;
- strengthening the R&D, innovation, and enterprise ecosystem;
- increasing access to high-performance computing infrastructures and data; and
- transforming the workforce and increasing expert human resources.
In the upcoming period, public institutions will lead the development and implementation of AI applications and projects to improve citizens' lives. The action plan aims to enhance Turkey's standing among the leading countries in AI, supported by the collaboration of all stakeholders.
