Sweden: PTS launches e-service assessing applicability of new Swedish Cyber Security Act

On June 24, 2024, the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) announced that it launched an e-service, 'Are we covered by the CSL?,' that would support companies in assessing whether they are covered by the Cyber Security Act, which will take effect from January 1, 2025.

Under the Cyber Security Act, which implements the Directive on measures for a high common level of cybersecurity across the Union, repealing Directive (EU) 2016/1148 (NIS 2 Directive), companies covered by the Cyber Security Act must register with the PTS. The PTS' non legally binding e-service is aimed at operators who fall under the PTS' sector responsibility, namely:

  • digital infrastructure;
  • management of ICT services;
  • space;
  • postal and courier services; and
  • digital suppliers.

You can read the press release here and access the e-service here, both only available in Swedish.
