Romania: ANSPDCP fines Dante International €3,000 for GDPR violation
The National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing ('ANSPDCP') announced, on 25 March 2020, that it had fined Dante Internațional SA RON 14,420 (approx. €3,000) for violating Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ('GDPR'). In particular, ANSPDCP highlighted that Dante International was fined because at the end of 2019 it had sent a commercial message to a natural person, who at the beginning of 2019, unsubscribed from commercial communications. ANSPDCP obliged Dante International to implement the request of the natural person within three working days, and ensure compliance with Article 21 of the GDPR within 20 working days from receiving the decision.
