Peru: Presidency announces launch of Coronavirus app
The Presidency of the Council of Ministers ('the Presidency') announced, on 3 April 2020, the launch of an application ('the App') in light of the COVID-19 ('Coronavirus') pandemic. In particular, the Presidency outlined that the App would allow user to, among other things, share their location in the event that they have tested positive for Coronavirus, in order for health professionals to assist such individuals in emergencies, and to send citizens alerts about risk areas in Peru. In addition, the Presidency discussed the functioning of the App and noted that if the App determines that the user is at risk, it would notify the user of this and will asked for the user's personal data, such as identification and phone number.
