New Zealand: NCSC releases incident management guidance

The National Cyber Security Centre ('NCSC') released, on 4 August 2020, its incident management guidance ('the Guidance'). In particular, the Guidance highlights the importance of developing and embedding a comprehensive incident management plan which focuses on continuous improvement and be a part of, or integrated with, a wider cybersecurity programme within the organisation. Furthermore, the Guidance outlines five key steps designed to assist organisations with managing and responding to cybersecurity incidents, including defining roles and responsibilities, identifying threats and assets, creating an incident management plan, logging and alerting incidents, as well as reporting progress.
