Mexico: INAI proposes amending Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data

On October 29, 2023, the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information, and Personal Data Protection (INAI) announced its 2024 budget project, highlighting the functions of the INAI and the main projects contemplated. Notably, the INAI stated, among other things, that one of the challenges of the project would be updating the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (FLPPDPP) in light of the recent developments in generative artificial intelligence (AI) such as ChatGPT, neurodata, and neurorights.
