Maryland: Bill on online children's data passes second reading at House of Delegates

House Bill 901 for An Act concerning Consumer Protection - Online Products and Services - Children's Data passed, on 18 March 2023, its second reading, with amendments, at the Maryland House of Delegates, following the first reading and the issuance, on the same date, of a favourable report by the Economic Matters Committee. In particular, the bill is based on the consideration that children should be afforded protections not only by online products specifically directed at them, but by all online products they are likely to access.
