Maine: AG announces Brightline data breach
The Maine Attorney General ('AG') announced, on 10 May 2023, that Brightline, Inc. had suffered a data breach on 30 January 2023. In particular, the AG specified that the breach was brought to the attention of Brightline on 6 February 2023, and that it involved the personal data of 28,975 individuals. Notably, the AG provided that the breach occurred as a result of a security incident within a third-party vendor, and that the incident involved the social security numbers of the affected individuals.
