Lower Saxony: LfD Niedersachsen expert group initiates discussion on AI training data
On July 30, 2024, the Lower Saxony data protection authority (LfD Niedersachsen) announced that the expert group on artificial intelligence (AI) of the LfD Niedersachsen initiated a discussion on AI training data. The aim of the expert group is to formulate framework conditions for the data protection-compliant use of AI in business and in the Lower Saxony administration.
The expert group will meet for the first time on August 14, 2024, to discuss the topic of the legality of training AI systems. LfD Niedersachsen noted that a total of three meetings are planned and the results may be made available to the Lower Saxony State Parliament for incorporation into legislation.
