Japan: Logo Vista addresses data breach potentially affecting 128,000 customers

Logo Vista Corporation issued, on 29 September 2021, a notice in which it addressed a data breach potentially affecting the personal information of up to 128,000 customers. In particular, the company confirmed that the unauthorised access to the company website and damage resulted from unauthorised acquisition of customer email addresses. In this respect, the company noted that affected personal information may include information other than email addresses, such as name, address, and credit card information.

As a result of the incident, the company stated that it has taken preventative measures against unauthorised access to the website and at the same time will conduct an internal verification and review of its management system. Furthermore, Logo Vista highlighted that, it had reported the matter to the police, and relevant specialised institutions, and will make efforts to strengthen and improve security and management systems.
