International: Indonesia and Japan sign MOU on smart security

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry ('METI') announced on 26 January 2022, that it, alongside the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia, had signed a Memorandum of Cooperation ('MoC') on strengthening the industrial smart security system in Indonesia's chemical industry. In particular, the METI noted that the contents of the MoC include holding policy dialogue on industrial smart security, human resources education, training, seminars, workshops and capacity development through other human resources development programs. Finally, the METI stated that the MoC is expected to continuously improve safety and efficiency through the utilisation of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things in Indonesian chemical plants.
