Hong Kong: PCPD issues statement on suspected data breach of Clubhouse
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data ('PCPD') announced, on 11 April 2021, that it had contacted Clubhouse to ascertain whether Hong Kong users were affected by an incident. In particular, the PCPD noted that following media reports of a suspected data breach relating to users of the audio-based social media platform, it reminded Clubhouse that it should notify the affected users as soon as possible to mitigate risks associated with this incident.
