Hawaii: Committee passes consumer data protection bill

House Bill 1497 for An Act Relating to Consumer Data Protection was passed, on 6 February 2023, by the Higher Education & Technology Committee with amendments and thereafter referred, on the same date, to the Commerce and Consumer Protection Committee. In particular, the bill aims to establish a framework to regulate controllers and processors' access to personal consumer data, among other things.
