Guernsey: ODPA publishes new guidance on data transfers
The Office of the Data Protection Authority ('ODPA') announced, on 21 June 2022, that it had published three new guidance documents on data transfers outside of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. In particular, the ODPA highlighted that the following resources had been made available to help local organisations navigate the very complex legal landscape around data transfers:
- Guidance on International Data Transfers;
- Transfer Impact Assessments guidance and a self-assessment tool; and
- Bailiwick of Guernsey Addendum for the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses ('SCCs'), which is a legal document organisations can make restricted amendments to, to be used in conjunction with the EU Commission's SCCs.
