Germany: Bundesrat approves changes to COVID-19 ordinances

The Federal Council ('Bundesrat') announced, on 14 January 2022, that it had approved, on the same day, and one day after the Parliament ('Bundestag'), the Ordinance Amending the COVID-19 Protective Measures Exception Ordinance and the Coronavirus Entry Ordinance ('the Amending Ordinance'). In particular, despite the criticism expressed by the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information ('BfDI'), under the Amending Ordinance, COVID-19 vaccination certificates must correspond to the specifications published by the Paul Ehrlich Institute, and proof of recovery must meet the requirements published on the website of the Robert Koch Institute.

The Amending Ordinance entered into force on 15 January 2022.

You can read the press release here and the Amending Ordinance here, both only available in German.
