France: CNIL announces public consultation on health data processing standards

On April 26, 2024, the French data protection authority (CNIL) launched a public consultation on the development of new standards for the processing of health data.

More specifically, CNIL stated that the new standards would regulate all repositories relating to health data, the management of health vigilance, and access to repositories from the National Health Data System.

CNIL explained that it would invite the public to respond to a questionnaire on May 16, 2024, and organize a webinar on May 21, 2024. CNIL stated that stakeholders have two months from May 16, 2024, to submit their comments.

On May 16, 2024, CNIL published a questionnaire as part of its public consultation on the development of new standards for the processing of health data.
