Finland: Government submits proposal on COVID-19 passport to Parliament
The Finnish Government ('the Government') announced, on 21 September 2021, that it had submitted to Parliament a proposal on the nationwide use of the EU Digital COVID Certificate ('the COVID-19 Passport'). In particular, the Government stated that the proposal would also include provisions on the processing of personal data relating to the COVID-19 Passport and provisions on regulatory control. Furthermore, the Government stated that these temporary provisions would remain in force until the end of this year.
