EU: EDPB calls for expression of interest for event on Consent or Pay guidelines
On September 12, 2024, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) announced that it launched a call for expression of interest for a remote stakeholder event on November 18, 2024, to collect stakeholders' input on upcoming guidelines on the application of data protection legislation in the context of 'Consent or Pay' models.
Event program and stakeholders
The EDPB highlighted that this event follows the EDPB Opinion 08/2024, which addressed the 'Consent or Pay’ model in the context of large online platforms, and aims to contribute to the EDPB's ongoing work on guidelines on the same subject matter. Furthermore, the EDPB clarified that all individuals active in European sector associations, organizations, NGOs, and individual companies, law firms, or academics that have expertise in 'Consent or Pay' models are invited to participate in the event.
How to take part?
The EDPB outlined that to take part the interested organizations can follow the instructions published in the call for expression of interest. The EDPB noted that the call will be closed as soon as a sufficiently high number of applicants is reached.
