Colorado: Bill on AI passes third reading in the House and is concurred in Senate

On May 8, 2024, Senate Bill 24-205 a bill for an act concerning consumer protections in interactions with artificial intelligence systems passed its third reading in the House of Representatives and was concurred by the Colorado State Senate on the same date.

The bill introduces requirements for developers or deployers of a 'high-risk artificial intelligence system,' including obligations to use reasonable care to avoid algorithmic discrimination and to maintain specific documentation.
