Chile: Ministry publishes cybersecurity report

On June 10, 2024, the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation announced the results of the report on research and development of cybersecurity in Chile. The Ministry stated that the objectives that drove the development of the report included strengthening the digital environment of Chile and identifying areas of improvement to advance the information security of institutions and people. The report includes a review of several areas, such as access control management, security of cyber-physical systems, and cryptography. The Ministry highlighted that the report held three main objectives:

  • understand the current state and future trends in cybersecurity;

  • detect research networks and international collaborations through analysis of joint publications; and

  • identify priority areas in research and development that require promotion and support from public bodies.
