The California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) announced on February 9, 2024, that California's Third District Court of Appeal held that the CPPA's authority to enforce the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended (CCPA) Regulations should have been effective on July 1, 2023, overturning the lower court's decision. Importantly, Soltani, Executive Director of the CPPA, confirmed that "this ruling ensures all aspects of the [CCPA] regulations adopted by the CPPA last year are again enforceable, just as the voters intended when they enacted Proposition 24."
