Brazil: ANPD publishes glossary for data protection and privacy

On January 2, 2024, the Brazilian data protection authority (ANPD) published its glossary on data protection and privacy terms, including terms and expressions generally used by the ANPD in its official documents and communications.

In particular, the glossary defines common terms used in data protection legislation such as 'database,' 'cookies,' 'legitimate interests,' 'privacy governance plan,' 'anonymized data,' and 'data subject,' among others.

Update: May 24, 2024

ANPD updates glossary

On May 23, 2024, the ANPD published an updated version of the glossary. The ANPD highlighted that the updated version is more dynamic and will be continuously updated.
