Armenia: National Assembly passes amendments to the EC to track infected

The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia passed, on 31 March 2020, the Making Addenda to the Law on Legal Regime of the State of Emergency and on Making Addendum to the Law on Electronic Communication (‘the Amendments’) as a response to the current COVID-19 ('Coronavirus') pandemic. In particular, the Amendments introduce new legislation under the Law on Electronic Communication ('EC') which will allow the tracking of individuals infected with the Coronavirus to be tracked through technical means such as smart phones.
