Zambia: Data Protection Act enacted by Parliament
The Data Protection Act No. 3 of 2021 was enacted, on 23 March 2021, by the Parliament of Zambia. In particular, the Act provides a system for the use and protection of personal data, by regulating the collection, use, transmission, storage, and otherwise processing of personal data. In addition, the Act establishes the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner and sets out the duties of data controllers and data processors, and the rights of data subjects.
