Maryland: House Bill establishing Online Data Privacy Act referred to Committee on Finance

On March 18, 2024, House Bill 0567, cross-filed with Senate Bill 0541 for an Act concerning the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act of 2024, was referred to the Committee on Finance after having passed its third reading on March 16, 2024.

The bill aims to establish the manner in which a controller or processor may process a consumer's personal data, authorizing a consumer to exercise certain rights regarding their personal data, and requires a controller to establish a method for a consumer to exercise certain rights regarding their personal data.
