Illinois: Protect Health Data Privacy Act passed Judiciary Committee

On April 3, 2024, House Bill 4093 for the Protect Health Data Privacy Act passed the Judiciary - Civil Committee in the House of Representatives and was placed on the calendar for the second reading.

In particular, the bill sets forth provisions concerning health data privacy policies, together with provisions concerning the consent required for the collection, sharing, and storage of health data. The bill also sets forth provisions concerning a consumer's right to confirm whether a regulated entity is collecting, selling, sharing, or storing any of the consumer's health data.
