Before setting up Regulatory Strategies, he was UK & EMEA Director of Regulatory and Consumer Affairs at Experian.

Mike has been a member of the UK’s data sharing council, the Steering Committee on Reciprocity. Between 2007 and 2009 he was the first UK President of the Association of Consumer Credit Information Suppliers (ACCIS), based in Brussels.

In August 2008 he was elected to the European Commission Expert Group, charged with identifying challenges and solutions to creating a single European credit market for consumers and lenders.

Mike is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a Member of the Institute of Directors.

Pascale is one of the authors of the industry model clauses for data transfers to third countries approved by the EC Commission on December 27, 2004 and of the Binding Corporate Rules of a US based multinational company approved by several national data protection authorities. She has also played an active role with the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union, the International Chamber of Commerce and the European Privacy Officers Forum in the discussions and communications with the EC Commission, the Article 29 Working Party and the CNIL on several issues, including the various data transfer model contracts, binding corporate rules, the employment data directive project, the simplification of notification requirements, e-mail marketing and whistle blowing lines.

Pascale is the board member of AFCDP (French Association of Privacy Correspondents) in charge of International Affairs. She is also an active member of the European Advisory Board of IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals). Within AFCDP she heads the transborder data flows working group and the working group on data breach notifications. Pascale is an alumnae of University Paris II Panthéon-Assas and of Columbia Law School –NYC.

Nick is also an expert in IT and e-commerce law and technology transactions and acts for both suppliers and customers on strategic sourcing, outsourcing and BPO / business process re-engineering projects, as well as off-shoring and PFI/PPP. Prior to joining the Promontory, Phil Jones worked for the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as Assistant Commissioner, and spent more than 20 years with the regulator. He and his team were charged with providing advice and guidance to organisations in both the private and public sector on the application of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation 2003.

Before joining the then Data Protection Registrar's office in 1990, Phil worked for VSO as a Field Director in Nigeria, the Pacific and Sri Lanka. Before that Phil was a Further Education Lecturer in Nottinghamshire.

Most recently, he led Deloitte's UK privacy and data protection team, including the development of a leading privacy consulting team. During his time with Deloitte, he also headed the company's payments regulation team through the implementation of the European Parliament's E-Money Directive. Mr. McDougall has worked with leading financial services firms as well as a wide range of the largest UK and international organizations in government media and telecommunications. He has served on the Data Protection Forum, the British Standards Institutions' (BSI) data protection editorial board, and a range of other consultative and advisory groups. Mr. McDougall is a chartered accountant and worked in Deloitte's audit and technology risk teams before joining the regulatory consulting practice in 2004. Mr. McDougall earned his bachelor's degree in English Literature from Somerville College, Oxford, and was President of the Oxford University Student Union.

He has also been involved in a series of cases before the Information Tribunal and the ECJ which concern important freedom of information legal issues. His non-contentious experience covers auditing, consulting, advice on the exercise of data subject rights, compensation claims, direct marketing, data security, data retention, data access and transborder data flows, drafting of documents (company rules and procedures, controller-processor contracts, employment contracts, privacy statements) and management and worker training. His contentious experience covers both civil and criminal data protection and privacy cases and he is heavily involved in defending data controllers and individuals in prosecutions brought by the Information Commissioner.

Stewart is a member of The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, The Law Society, the British Computer Society, the Society for Computers and Law and the National Association of Data Protection and Freedom of Information Officers. He sits on the British Computer Society's Information Privacy Expert Panel, is a member of The Sedona Conference expert working group on electronically stored information and he is the elected Chairman of the National Association of Data Protection and Freedom of Information Officers (since 2004).
