Serbia: Poverenik announces Corvus Pay designate representative for Republic of Serbia

The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection ('Poverenik') announced, on 24 February 2023, that it had received a written decision, on 20 February 2023, from Corvus Pay d.o.o. based in Croatia, in accordance with the Law on Personal Data Protection 2018 (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, No. 87/2018) ('the Law'). In particular, the Poverenik noted the representative of this company for the Republic of Serbia is Nataša Pepić.

More in detail, the Poverenik highlighted that itself or another person may address this representative regarding issues related to the processing of personal data, in order to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Law. In addition, the Poverenik noted that other foreign companies with the obligation to designate their representative in Serbia should fulfil the same obligation and show awareness of the need to respect the rule of law and privacy of their users.
